Finding viruses quickly

Fujifilm has polished technologies in the field of photography and fused them with cutting-edge testing technologies. We developed a highly sensitive detection technology that makes early finding possible even during the initial phase of influenza when virus presence is minimal.

1.Influenza could be diagnosed only after the symptoms had advanced.

It’s the influenza season. You might be examined at an early stage of influenza only to be told: “Come back tomorrow.” On the following day, the same test is applied and the diagnosis is influenza. This is because with conventional testing methods, influenza can’t be detected until the virus grows over time.

2.Fujifilm has developed a highly sensitive detection technology.

Conventional testing is conducted by conjugating gold colloid, which is a sign of the virus. Fujifilm developed a highly sensitive detection technology so that the gold colloid adsorbs silver and is amplified. Silver increases around the gold colloid that originally had a diameter of approximately 50 nm, and the diameter amplifies by about 100 times in just tens of seconds. With the larger sign, influenza becomes easier to detect even if the virus is just a trace.

3.Early diagnosis is possible even during the initial phase of influenza when virus presence is minimal.

It was difficult for doctors to diagnose influenza immediately after infection. If this becomes possible with Fujifilm’s highly sensitive detection technology, patients can be treated before the symptoms advance.
Silver amplification technology that was cultivated by our film processing expertise will assist in countering various infectious diseases.
