The Stomach & Fujifilm In your stomach FLASH Version
An ultrafine "electronic endoscope*1" measuring 5.9 mm.
Many patients have commented that a nasal endoscopy is
preferable to a throat endoscopy as it doesn't cause a
pharyngeal or gagging reflex.*2
The patient can speak with the doctor throughout the
examination, and the affected area is shown clearly with
high definition.
Fujifilm optical and digital imaging technology, such as the
special 1.5 mm diameter lens, minimizes the patients'
discomfort during an endoscopy.*3

*2 From a survey of endoscopy patients in several medical institutions.
*3 Levels of discomfort vary according to patient.

1.The birth of an electronic endoscope that is inserted through the nose and reduces gagging!
The endoscope often causes the patient to experience a
gagging sensation during the examination.
When the endoscope comes into contact with the root of the
tongue, the protective gagging reflex is engaged to expel the
foreign object.
The latest "transnasal endoscope" is inserted through the
nasal passage into the esophagus. This minimizes the
gagging reflex because it doesn't touch the root of the tongue.
Fujifilm technology has reduced the discomfort * associated
with endoscopic examinations.
*The amount of the reduction varies among individuals.

2.The latest transnasal model. Ultrafine at just 5.9 mm. Almost half the thickness.
Compare its thickness with the conventional endoscope.
The pliancy allows a smooth and comfortable insertion through the nose.
Designed to minimize the patient's physical and emotional discomfort.
Because only a small amount of anesthesia is needed, the
burden on the body is also reduced.

3.Approximately 95% of the patients who experienced the transnasal endoscopy stated that they would prefer it the next time also.(from a survey of 2,000 patients at Izumo Central Clinic in Japan)
Approximately 95% of patients who experienced both the
conventional endoscopy through the mouth and the transnasal
endoscopy stated that they "would prefer the transnasal endoscopy from now on."
The rate of favorable reactions is high, with approximately
two-thirds of the patients responding that "they never want to be examined through the mouth again, but would be willing to
undergo an examination through the nose."
95% Would prefer transnasal endoscope next time also.

Please let me know if anything bothers you.
Patients can relax and speak with the doctor during this examination.
During the examination, the doctor and patient can
converse.
Hearing the doctor say "please let me know if anything
bothers you," the nervous patient will gradually relax.
Many doctors mentioned the importance of communication,
saying "trust is built by having the patient talk, which results
in a safe examination."

The 1.5mm lens is here!
6.A special 1.5 mm diameter lens, perfected by our team.
This unique tiny lens, the size of a sesame seed, has
made the transnasal endoscope possible.
Fujifilm is proud to announce this technical achievement to
the world: Our lens measuring 1.5 to 3 millimeters in
diameter renders high definition images.
The surface of the lens is precisely ground to 1 micrometer
(1/1000 mm) or less.
In recent years, we have contributed to improving the skills
of our youth and passing on down our expertise by
encouraging young engineers to take the national
vocational ability exam.
